Sometimes it can be a scary moment, where you quickly move out of the way (whether or not your girlfriend knows what's coming). And sometimes the fan has to make a decision between the foul ball or his or her kid.
Or, fans can take the nonchalant route and not let the line drive phase them at all. That's what the Rangers fan in the video below did in Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians.
In the very first inning, Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler hit a scorching line drive to the stands on the first base side. A fan talking on his cell phone, very casually, stuck out his gloved hand and caught the ball, while continuing his phone conversation.
