Android Candy: HTC Desire HD Custom ROM List

HTC Sensation users can rejoice with the release of Revolutionary to get some S-Off loving. We can finally enjoy some root access and of course some custom ROMs. I went on a ROM Flashing frenzy as soon as they were available. Therefore, I am here to show you one of the many that I have tried. This one is called Android Revolution HD with has a strong user base and has an experienced developer that supports other android devices. Mike1986 is the developer in charge of this custom rom and can be found on XDA-Developers. Mike provides a great overall experience with many tweaks and additional mods but the one that stands out the most is the fact that he allows users to choose a full Sense 3.0 experience or a No-Sense experience. Both are still based off HTC Sense 3.0 but the No-Sense ROM has many changes and mods; it seems to be a stock Android ROM. This review will be on the Sense Custom ROM and what it has to offer.

Overall, Android Revolution HD is a good Custom ROM to give a try for your Sensation 4G. It comes with many improvements and additional mods that give it a speed boost. The installation process is a little bit different so make sure you follow every step the developer provides to prevent anything bad from happening. Just like every other custom ROM in the community, they are not responsible for any damages that can occur when flashing custom ROMs so complete the process at your own risk.

Anti-Aging Industry Poised For Billions From Boomers

70 million-member strong market for legions of companies, entrepreneurs and cosmetic surgeons eager to capitalize on their "forever young" mindset, whether it's through wrinkle creams, face-lifts or workout regimens.

It adds up to potential bonanza. The market research firm Global Industry Analysts projects that a boomer-fueled consumer base, "seeking to keep the dreaded signs of aging at bay," will push the U.S. market for anti-aging products from about $80 billion now to more than $114 billion by 2015.

The boomers, who grew up in a culture glamorizing youth, face an array of choices as to whether and how to be a part of that market.

Anti-aging enthusiasts contend that life spans can be prolonged through interventions such as hormone replacement therapy and dietary supplements. Critics, including much of the medical establishment, say many anti-aging interventions are ineffective or harmful.

From mainstream organizations such as the National Institute on Aging, the general advice is to be a skeptical consumer on guard for possible scams involving purported anti-aging products.

Bare-breast protest at Ukraine trial

The Ukrainian women's group, Femen, took its distinctive brand of protest to the trial of ex-prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko on Tuesday when two activists climbed atop a police wagon outside the court and bared their breasts.

The action by the group, whose activists regularly stage topless public protests to dramatise their causes, surprised scores of police who were keeping an eye on a nearby rally by pro-Tymoshenko supporters.

The pair clambered on to the roof of the prison van parked near the Kiev city centre courtroom, removed their blouses and jeered at police and the country's politicians who, they said, belonged inside the vehicle themselves.

"This vehicle is reserved for bandits ... the check-out is open," they called from on top of the vehicle before police finally climbed up and managed to carry them down.

The protest brought some light relief to the trial of Tymoshenko who is charged with abuse of office over a gas deal signed with Russia in 2009 when she was prime minister. The leadership of President Viktor Yanukovich says the deal saddled Ukraine with too high a price for its gas imports.

Femen regularly stages protests over women's rights and covers a range of causes from campaigning against sex tourism in Ukraine to the treatment of women in parts of the Middle East.

It takes up an anti-establishment position inside Ukraine and has been as critical of Tymoshenko's record as a politician in the past as it has of Yanukovich whose off-colour remarks about women have provided it with pretexts for protests.

Explaining Tuesday's action by Inna Shevchenko, 21, and Oksana Sachko, 23, Femen said it was against "the dirty in-fighting between two criminal gangs being presented to the people as a struggle between good and evil."

Femen activist Alexandra Shevchenko, who did not take part in the protest, said it was intended to remind Yanukovich's Party of the Regions that "when they put the opposition in jail the prison vans are also booked

Jani Lane Dies at 47

Jani Lane, the former lead singer of the metal rock band Warrant, has died in Los Angeles. He was 47.

Officer Sara Faden says Lane's body was found Thursday in a Woodland Hills hotel. She had no immediate information on the cause or circumstances of his death.

With his long blond hair and tight leather outfits, Lane embodied the excess of 1980s metal rock bands. He joined Warrant in 1984 and wrote such hits as "Heaven," "Down Boys" and "Cherry Pie."

He had an on-and-off relationship with the band, leaving it in 1992 before returning and quitting again several times.

In recent years, he appeared in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club" and made news for a drunken driving arrest.

Pregnant Pacifica Woman Killed By Pet Pit Bull

A 32-year-old pregnant woman from Pacifica was attacked and killed by her family's pet pit bull earlier today.

Pacifica Police received a 911 call at approximately 12:15 p.m. about a possible dog mauling in the 500 block of Reina Del Mar Avenue. The first officer to arrive on the scene located the victim, Darla Napora, lying in the front room of her home, police said.

"The victim had major trauma, was not breathing or responsive," Pacifica Police Chief Jim Tasa said.

The first responders' efforts to revive the woman were not successful.

The victim's husband, who had called the police and was also at the scene when they arrived, told police that their two-year-old male pit bull had attacked his wife after he left for work. He said the dog had been secured in their back yard before he left.

Taipei 101 On High video

Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taipei, Taiwan is impressive to say the least.

On a recent three day trip, it provided the perfect vantage point for shooing a Taipei time lapse video from the highest point in the city.

It is the highest point of the city by far, and the third tallest building in the world at 1,670 feet.

Corralejas, Colombia Amateur Bullfight - Video

Colombian bullfight ended in tragedy as one 25-year-old man was gored to death, and another 10 to 15 people injured, various sources are reporting.

According to Colombia Reports, the over-1,322-pound bull attacked and dragged a man around the bullfighting area for minutes, even after he had already died from his initial injuries.

Rebecca Black Leaves School For Being Bullied

Rebecca Black has been forced to leave her high school in Anaheim, Calif. after being bullied relentlessly for her hit single "Friday," ABC News reports.

Black's mother, a teacher, pulled her daughter from school and is now homeschooling her to avoid bullies and focus on her career, she told Nightline.

Black's "Friday" music video went viral in March, and since then, the artist says she's been the target of school bullies who would tease her about the single.

"When I walk by they'll start singing 'Friday' in a really nasally voice," she told Nightline. "Or, you know, they'll be like, 'Oh hey, Rebecca, guess what day it is?'"

Earth's 2 Moons

Earth once had two moons, astronomers now think. But the smaller one smashed into the other in what is being called the "big splat."

The result: Our planet was left with a single bulked-up and ever-so-slightly lopsided moon.

The astronomers came up with the scenario to explain why the moon's far side is so much more hilly than the one that is always facing Earth.

The theory, outlined Wednesday in the journal Nature, comes complete with computer model runs showing how it might have happened and an illustration that looks like the bigger moon getting a pie in the face.

Outside experts said the idea makes sense, but they aren't completely sold yet.

This all supposedly happened about 4.4 billion years ago, long before there was any life on Earth to gaze up and see the strange sight of dual moons. The moons themselves were young, formed about 100 million years earlier when a giant planet smashed into Earth. They both orbited Earth and sort of rose in the sky together, the smaller one trailing a few steps behind like a little sister in tow.

And because the smaller moon was more than 600 miles wide, the crash took a while to finish even at 5,000 mph. Asphaug likened the smaller moon to a rifle bullet and said, "People would be bored looking at it because it's taking 10 minutes just for the bullet to bury itself in the moon. This is an event if you were looking at, you'd need a big bag of popcorn."

The rocks and crust from the smaller moon would have spread over and around the bigger moon without creating a crater, as a faster crash would have done.

"The physics is really surprisingly similar to a pie in the face," Asphaug said.

And about a day later, everything was settled and the near and far sides of the moon looked different, Asphaug said.

Co-author Martin Jutzi of the University of Bern in Switzerland said the study was an attempt to explain the odd crust and mountainous terrain of the moon's far side. Asphaug noticed it looked as if something had been added to the surface, so the duo started running computer simulations of cosmic crashes.

Bubba Smith Dead: Former Actor And NFL Star

Bubba Smith, who found a successful second career as an actor, died Wednesday in Los Angeles at age 66. Los Angeles County coroner's spokesman Ed Winter said Smith was found dead at his Baldwin Hills home. Winter said he didn't know the circumstances or cause of death.

Police spokesman Richard French added the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The top overall pick in the 1967 draft after a sensational career at Michigan State, Smith spent five seasons with the Baltimore Colts and two seasons each with Oakland and Houston. He won the 1971 Super Bowl with the Colts.

Two and a Half Men" quickly approaching, CBS revealed the details behind new star Ashton Kutcher's character on Wednesday and AOL TV was there.

Kutcher, who replaces Charlie Sheen on the show after his epic meltdown last year caused production to end early and canceled the last few episodes of the season, will play Walden Schmidt, "an Internet billionaire with a broken heart," Nina Tassler, CBS entertainment president, told reporters (via TV Line).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tassler praised Kutcher, saying, "We have an extra actor in Ashton Kutcher. You have someone who is committed to doing their job and is incredibly professional," calling him "an extraordinarily talented, funny and gifted actor."

World's Longest Water Coaster Planned To Open At Holiday World In Indiana (VIDEO)

Indiana waterpark that is already home to the world's largest water coaster announced plans to build an even larger water ride for next summer called the Mammoth.

Officials at Holiday World in Santa Claus (yes, that is the name of the town) say the new water coaster -- which differs from a water slide by offering uphill portions instead of just downhill portions -- will open next May at a cost of $9 million, according to The Indianapolis Star.

After climbing a "conveyor-style lift," boats carrying six thrill-seekers will wind their way across a 1,753-foot course, The Courier Press reports.

That's 43 feet more than the Wildebeest, a Holiday World attraction that's the current record-holder as the world's longest water coaster, according to the theme park's website.

"We added Wildebeest water coaster last year and it was a runaway hit," said Holiday World president Dan Koch in a press release. "So we asked our designers for something even bigger."

The Mammoth will reportedly boast six descents, including a first hill that falls 53 feet at a 45-degree angle.

Heather Mills Alleges Mirror Group Hacked

Mills recounted that a Mirror Group journalist had called her asking about an argument between her and her then-boyfriend Sir Paul McCartney, "quoting verbatim the messages from my machine." Mills said the journalist admitted to hacking the voice mails after she questioned where the journalist had gotten their information and threatened to go to the police if the material was published.

Mills said the journalist told her, "OK, OK, yeah we did hear it on your voice messages, I won't run it."

She was clear that the journalist in question was not Piers Morgan—the editor of the Mirror at the time—but the message in question may be one that Morgan had admitted to hearing. In 2006, Morgan wrote in the Daily Mail that he "was played a tape of a message Paul had left for Heather on her mobile phone."

"It was heartbreaking," Morgan wrote. "The couple had clearly had a tiff, Heather had fled to India, and Paul was pleading with her to come back. He sounded lonely, miserable and desperate, and even sang 'We Can Work It Out' into the answer phone."

Mills told the BBC that "there was absolutely no honest way that Piers Morgan could have obtained that tape that he has so proudly bragged about unless they had gone into my voice messages."

50th birthday, Obama spoke to donors at two fundraisers at the historic Aragon Ballroom, and via video conference to supporters at more than 1,000 house parties from coast to coast.

The fundraisers were held as Obama's presidential campaign lowered expectations for how much money it would bring in this summer, in part because the campaign had to cancel 10 events while the president and his staff were stuck in Washington for the showdown over raising the government's debt limit. Obama's quick stop in Chicago was his first trip outside the Washington region in more than a month.

Obama didn't try to sell his supporters on the deal to raise the debt ceiling and cut spending that he signed this week after arduous negotiations with Republicans. But he did warn that the country couldn't afford another "self-inflicted wound" like it experienced this summer.

"We don't have time to play these partisan games. We've got too much work to do," Obama said. He told supporters not to be discouraged by the partisan fights in Washington, saying, "You did not elect me president to duck the tough issues. You elected me president to do the tough things."

At a high-dollar dinner fundraiser later in the night, took a swipe at his Republican adversaries, saying, "I give the other side credit. They are single-minded in their focus in wanting to cut programs and shrink government."

Sex Scandal-Plagued Congressman Resigning David Wu - Video

Last month, Wu signaled he would step down from his post after an agreement was reached between Democrats and Republicans to raise the debt ceiling. The White House and top congressional lawmakers struck a deal to lift the deficit limit earlier this week.

According to National Journal, Wu will resign at 11:59 p.m. (presumably ET) on Wednesday night.

“Serving as a U.S. Congressman has been the greatest honor of my life," said the congressman in a statement, according to the Oregonian. "There is no other job where you get up each day and ask, ‘How can I try to make the world a better place today?’"
