The guys donned crazy curly wigs of different colors and fake mustaches to transform into Sofia's fake sons, and they were introduced as Carlito (Harry Styles), Pepito (Louis Tomlinson), Martito (Liam Payne), Miguelito (Zayn Malik) and Dick (Niall Horan). Twitter lit up soon after the guys hit the stage, and Directioners quickly dubbed One Direction's Latino cousins "Juan Direction."
The name comes from a tweet from the Twitter page of The X Factor on April Fools' Day - there was a crazy rumor that Louis Tomlinson was going to be a father, and this news was "confirmed" with a tweet that Harry Styles was pregnant. The tweet claimed that Harry was going to name his baby Juan Direction Styles if it was a boy.
But the guys' dancing bit wasn't the only cheeky way they stole the show. Zayn Malik got Twitter abuzz by poking Harry's dimple during their "One Thing" performance, and Louis probably got a few laughs for hanging on to his mustache so that he could wear it at the end of the show. The band had a few lip synching fails, but they'll probably be forgiven (unlike poor Ashlee Simpson).
One Direction looked like they were having a really good time once they loosened up after their first performance, and maybe next time they'll be ready to do a little more on SNL. It's just a shame they weren't used as tributes in The Hunger Games skit (which featured Sofia Vergara as a hilarious Effie Trinket parody), and Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles could probably use the "Just Friends" booty shorts and "Not Gay" tank tops that Jason Sudeikis and Andy Samberg were wearing at the beginning of the show (then again, why destroy the dreams of all the Directioners that are obsessed with Larry Stylinson?).
